Nothing beats the beautiful fall weather in a mountain town like Missoula. From the festivals to the football games, we love everything about this awesome season. Here is our list of the top 5 things we are excited about for fall this year.

Football Games

Here at the Comfort Inn University, we live for the University of Montana Griz sports games, and nothing says fall quite like football season. The Washington-Grizzly stadium is just across the Clark Fork River from our location, and we look forward to the fall football season each year when our guests get decked out in their maroon and go cheer for the Griz!

Fall Colors

Being a mountain town, Missoula is surrounded by some gorgeous scenery that somehow becomes even more gorgeous in the fall. The trees in town and in the surrounding mountains start to change in late September, with the peak happening sometime in mid to late August. Looking for great spots to see the fall foliage in town? Check out this blog post from Destination Missoula (Linked to post).

Local Menus

Many Missoula restaurants whip up delicious local and seasonal menus, and we are always excited to see what fall holds! We are talking everything from local vegetarian cuisine to Montana-raised burgers and steaks. Our mouths are watering just thinking about the options!

Coffee Season

When the weather starts to cool off, nothing can warm your insides like a hot cup of coffee from one of the local shops. The Comfort Inn University proudly serves Drum Coffee in our lobby, or you can stop at the shop just across the street and get a cup! Other great coffee shops like Florence Coffee serve up homemade seasonal favorites, like the Pumpkin Spiced Latte, or stop at Black Coffee Roasting for locally roasted beans.

S’More at the Fire Pit

The fire pit at the Comfort Inn University is the perfect spot to take in a crisp fall evening. Gather with family and friends, cozy up around the warm firm, tell stories together, and share delicious complimentary s’mores when you stay with us.
