A band performing outside in Missoula

It just wouldn’t be summertime in Missoula without live music. Beer in hand, shoes kicked off, dancing on a green lawn under one of those signature Big Sky sunsets—that’s just the Missoula way of life. Our lively city offers two outdoor amphitheaters, an outdoor stadium, an indoor arena and world class concert halls. On top of that, weekly events take over Caras Park with live outdoor concerts, local food trucks and more. Bottom line, it isn’t hard to find the perfect show during your stay at the Comfort Inn.

The Wilma

5 minutes from the Comfort Inn

If you ever cruise through downtown Missoula and see a long line winding down Higgins Avenue, they’re probably going to a concert at the Wilma Theater. The historic venue was built in 1921 by William “Billy” Simons and dedicated to his wife, light opera artist Edna Wilma. The contrast of historic touches from the 1920’s with modern musicians is pure magic.

There’s something about beer and music in Missoula—we just can’t seem to keep them apart. The Big Sky Amphitheater sits right behind the Big Sky Taproom, and those guys know how to do concerts. As soon as you enter you’ll find a sprawling lawn where people set up chairs and blankets, food trucks serve local dishes, and (of course) beer tents pour Big Sky Brewing favorites.

Ogren Park is home to Missoula’s minor league baseball team, the Missoula Osprey. Complete with delicious food, drinks (think wine slushies!), and an endless stream of fun events for all ages, this stadium is a hot spot for summer fun in Missoula. But it isn’t all about baseball at Ogren Park—this year they are excited to welcome Mumford & Sons for one of Missoula’s most anticipated summer concerts!

August 11: Mumford & Sons

Top Hat Lounge

5 minutes from the Comfort Inn

Where do we start? While Top Hat is smaller than the Wilma Theater across the street, it still packs a punch when it comes to live music. They have shows almost every day of the week, ranging from free concerts by Missoula locals to big-name artists passing through. Top Hat is constantly adding shows to their lineup, so check out their events calendar for the most up-to-date information.

Caras Park

5 minutes from the Comfort Inn

Caras is not your average park, especially when it comes to live music. Local artists take the stage all summer long, filling downtown Missoula with music and drawing in everyone who walks past Caras Park. Catch free live music and local vendors at Out to Lunch every Wednesday, and Downtown ToNight every Thursday.
